Spring Concert Program HERE
Cotter High School and Junior High have a long tradition of outstanding instrumental music ensembles. Each year the bands receive many awards and accolades for their performances. The Cotter bands are very active and travel extensively each year. There are several ensembles that students may participate in and all students are welcome and encouraged to participate in the band program.
Lincoln Test- Drive Fundraiser Results!
The Lincoln "Driven to Give" event was a huge success for the Cotter Band. On Oct. 29, 2016, Cotter band students, parents, and staff from Sugarloaf Ford gathered outside the John Nett Rec Center and set up for a day of test drives benefiting the Cotter marching band program. Students ran the iPad check in and check out systems, while parents took local band supporters on test drives in 8 different model Lincolns. The generosity of Sugarloaf Ford allowed us to use these luxury vehicles for the entire day, giving the opportunity to drive a car to many different community members.
Each 5 minute test drive around the Cotter campus was equivalent to a $20 donation to the band. If drivers really loved the experience, they were able to hop in for a second ride in a "bonus car," the 2016 Lincoln MKZ. This bonus ride paid an additional $20 to the band! Thanks to the time given by parents, students, Sugarloaf Ford, Lincoln, and our generous Winona community, the band was able to raise an impressive $4,980! Our two event hosts, Cotter band parents Darin Weltzien and Mike Kramer donated an additional $10 each to bring the grand fundraiser total to $5000. This money will assist the band in paying for its buses, food, housing, uniforms, music, and support staff for the 2017 marching band season.
Overall the day was a great success, and working with the staff at Sugarloaf Ford was incredibly pleasant. They were helpful, insightful, patient, and willing to go the extra mile. We are thankful for their time and resources, and appreciate all they did for us as a band.
