A Day in the Life

A typical Cotter Schools student ranges from a local individual living their life in Winona, MN to an international or domestic boarding student who is here for a world-class education.

7:30 AM Breakfast

8:00 AM Before school activities. Examples include: Student Council, Show Choir, Cross-Country practice, and bible study.

8:45 AM Classes begin

11:30 AM Lunch

12:15 PM Class resume

3:20 PM School ends and after school activities begin. Examples include athletics, clubs, and drama.

6:00 PM Supper

6:45 PM Study time supervised by staff

7:15 PM Open Gym

8:30 PM Free Time

10:00 PM Lights Out


On the weekends students are provided with rides to shop and explore in Winona. Resident Mentors also plan activities such as basketball games, hiking trips, crafting, holiday parties, day trips (examples include Asian Food Market, Mall of America, LARK Toy Store) and a variety of other activities to participate in.
