Parents pay tuition, so why is it necessary to donate to Cotter?
The tuition covers only a portion of the total cost to run the school in the academic year. There is a significant gap between the actual cost per student and the amount of tuition charged.
Why is it important to donate to the Cotter Schools Annual Fund?
Every day, every student and teacher benefits from donations to the Annual Fund. Donations go directly into the general operating budget and provide immediate benefit for our students and teachers. These funds make it possible for our faculty to have all of the materials and support they need, provide opportunity for advanced professional development, and enrich student opportunities. Donations provide sustainable revenue not directly tied to tuition and are used to support every program.
Who can donate to Cotter?
Everyone! Parents, alumni, grandparents, faculty, alumni parents, foundations, current students and companies give to the school. Every donation and every donor makes a difference.
What events can I attend to support Cotter?
There are several annual events you can attend to support Cotter. The largest fundraising event is our annual Cotter Auction. The Live & Silent Auction is featured each April and provides a wonderful opportunity to enjoy an amazing community event and philanthropically support our students at the same time! In addition, Cotter hosts the Cotter/WACS Golf Classic each June. You can support these events by attending and making a voluntary meaningful contribution.
Is my contribution tax-deductible?
Since Cotter is a 501(c)(3) non-profit institution (EIN 41-1653997), in most cases your donation will be tax deductible. We encourage you to talk with your tax advisor.
