Spring Sports Recap & Awards

Congratulations to all of our spring sports teams! This was snowy, wet, and cold, but our athletes hung in there and had quite a successful spring!

Tennis finished the season 14-4! Ian Modjeski, the Singles Player of the Year, upset the state-ranked #1 seed in sections. Doubles Players of the Year were Jerry Yang and Tony Wan. Most Improved was awarded to Rob Besek and Connor Zukowski received the Rambler Award. Well done, fellas!

Softball finished the season 22-5 and won the consolation bracket at the State Tournament! The section championship, which they won over Rochester Lourdes, was the 12th in school history. Powerhouse pitcher, Isabel Northrop, was awarded the team MVP while her catcher, Britney Meier, received the Defensive MVP award. 8th grader, Ali French, received the Rambler Award. All-Conference selections were Isabel Northrop, Britney Meier, Josie Huelskamp, Abree Dieterman, and Ali French. Aspen Jerowski earned All-Conference Honorable Mention. Isabel Northrop and Josie Huelskamp were selected to the All-State team while Britney Meier earned All-State Honorable Mention honors as well. Great season, ladies!

Baseball finished 5-7-2 overall. All-Conference selections were seniors, Parker Nelton and Daniel Wuxihong. Parker Nelton was named MVP, Daniel Wuxihong received the Rambler Award, and Jack Gardner earned Most Improved. Congratulations, fellas!

Track & Field had an amazing season! The girls team was State Runner-Up which included 2 state champions! Grace Ping was the state champion in the 1600 while Lauren Ping was the state champion in the 3200! Claire Nichols placed 10th at the state meet in the long jump. Garet Grant also competed at state in the 3200 and placed 9th for the boys.

There were several team highlights throughout the season. Claire Nichols sent a school record with a long jump of 16' 8"! She was also 1/100th of a second shy of setting a school record in the 100. Will Modjeski placed 1st in the sub-section and 3rd in sections in the 800. One place away from competing at the state meet. The girls team distance runners went 1,2,3 in the 1600 and 3200 at the sub-section with Lauren Ping, Grace Ping, and Aubrey Williams in the 3200, and Lauren Ping, Grace Ping, and Morgan Arnold in the 3200. Garet Grant and Chris Kwak went 2,3 in the 3200. At sections, Grace Ping and Lauren Ping broke records. They both broke the school's 1600 record and the section meet record in the 3200!

Several athletes set personal records this season as well. Congratulations to Grace Menke (800), Fatima Mota (800), Talyn Gilbertson (100, 200 & Long Jump), Zach Schell (100), Elaine Zehr (100), Maren Stewart (200,400), Betsy Nagel (400), Julia Greshik (300H), Claire Nichols (100, Long Jump), Aubrey Williams (800), Caleb Glodowski (Shot Put), Connor Walechka (Discus, Shot Put), Austin Griffin (100), Joe Costello (200, 400, Pole Vault), Keagan Cranor (200), Austin Hicks (400), Will Modjeski (800), Garet Grant (1600),Chris Kwak (1600), Timothy Zehr (3200), Luke Broghammer (3200), James Greshik (Pole Vault,Triple Jump), and Cade Hansen (Pole Vault). 

Team MVPs were Lauren Ping and Garet Grant. Most Improved runner awards went to Aubrey Williams and Will Modjeski. Connor Walechka and Grace Ping received the Rambler Awards. Congratulations, ladies and gents!
