Shawn Boyd '92 is launching part one of my graphic novel "Winona Forever" on Kickstarter on February 1st. The story is a mystery-thriller (Da Vinci Code meets Stranger Things) that takes place in Winona on Halloween night 1987. It includes locations like St. Stan's, the old Dominican Priory on Stockton Hill, downtown Winona, the public library, and more. The 4-part story follows four 8th graders hunting for a powerful relic that's been long-hidden in Winona and a dangerous secret society who seeks the relic for its own dark purposes. It's ideal for anyone who loves the 80s but doesn't have a time machine to get there.
Shawn says, "The Kickstarter project for "Winona Forever" will be live on 2/1. I'd love to be able to share the book—especially with the Cotter community as they will relate".
