Habitat Accepting Homeownership Applications

Habitat Accepting Homeownership Applications

Habitat for Humanity serving Winona County is preparing to build another home in Winona and will accept applications now through December 15, 2021.

If homeownership has felt out of reach, Habitat may be able to help. Habitat homebuyers have a need for safe, affordable housing, including issues such as overcrowding, accessibility needs, unsafe structures, high rent compared to income, and more. Once selected, Habitat homebuyers partner with Habitat through 325 hours of sweat equity volunteering. All homebuyers pay an affordable mortgage.

Applications for homeownership are on the Habitat website in English, Hmong, and Spanish at habitatwinona.org/homes, at the Habitat office, and at the ReStore.

Habitat will also host community information sessions to answer questions about the application process, how to qualify, and more at the following times and locations:

  • Monday, November 15, 5:00-7:00 PM at the East End Rec
  • Tuesday, November 17, 5:00-7:00 PM at the East End Rec
  • Tuesday, November 23, 4:00-6:00 PM at the Winona Middle School
  • Wednesday, December 1, 4:00-6:00 PM at Anthem/West End Rec

Habitat for Humanity is an equal housing opportunity lender. To learn more about the homeownership program, visit the Habitat website at habitatwinona.org/homes, call (507) 457-0003, or visit the office at 169 N Baker St, Winona Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM.
