After finishing school and moving to Winona, Barry started working at Fastenal. He has been at Fastenal for 31 years. He is the Regional Operations Manager for the distribution center in Winona.

Barry and his wife Kim have 2 daughters, Ellie and Emma. Barry has helped coach in the girls basketball program at Cotter for the last 10 years. The last 5 of those have been as the assistant varsity coach. In addition to coaching, he also enjoy golfing, playing volleyball and basketball.
