Dress Code Requirements

For snow and other weather related cancellations, MCA follows Winona Area Public Schools and Cotter Schools recommendations.  If WAPS and Cotter Schools after school activities are canceled, then MCA will not hold classes.  Announcements about cancellations will be made on social media, as well as communication via email.

• Group classes: One cancellation day is built into each class session and will not be made up.  In the event there is more than one cancellation in a term, either a make up class or credit will be offered.

• Private Music Lessons:  Private music lessons will be either made up, or credited.  Make ups will be arranged with the instructor and family.

In the event of an instructor absence, MCA will attempt to find a replacement instructor.  If MCA cannot find a replacement with appropriate qualifications, class may be canceled.  One cancellation day is built into each class session and will not be made up.  In the event there is more than one cancellation in a term, either a make up class or credit will be offered.

private lessons

Private music instructors will communicate directly with families in the event a lesson needs to be canceled.  Instructors are encouraged to communicate with as much advance notice as possible. Instructors will work with families to either reschedule the lesson, or credit the family account for the missed class.

MCA does not offer a credit or refund if a student is unable to attend a regularly scheduled class.

If a student is unable to attend a private lesson, families must cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled lesson time.  Lessons canceled less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled lesson time will still be charged and no credit or refund will be issued.

• Before first day of class - families may choose either a full refund, or account credit
• After first day of class - families may choose a refund of 50% of account balance or an account credit for 100% of account balance
• Account credit balances are good for 2 years and will not be refunded after completion of class.

Private music lessons are assumed to be ongoing.  If a family intends to discontinue lessons, they must provide two weeks notice.
