Three Students Inducted into the National Honor Society for Dance Arts
Three high school students were inducted into the National Honor Society for Dance Arts in a ceremony, held by the Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts, on Sunday, April 14th, 2024. Induction into the NHSDA Secondary Program is earned through the accumulation of, at least, 30 points awarded for dance activities such as dance classes, rehearsals, performances, research, workshops, or community service activities, alongside a minimum GPA of 3.0. In addition, students are required to demonstrate collaborative teamwork, motivation, and leadership in the many aspects of dance (e.g., choreography, performance, mentoring, and production). Sunday’s event celebrated Elizabeth Hinz (Cotter, 12th), Mattie Kreisel (WAPS, 12th), and Salome Tolvaisas (WAPS, 10th).
As a member of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts, MCA is committed to recognizing outstanding dance students for their artistic merit, leadership, and academic achievement and has induction opportunities for students grades 6-12.
