Cotter 3rd Graders Shine in Spelling Bee
Cotter Schools proudly hosted its 3rd Grade Spelling Bee, celebrating the hard work and dedication of its young spellers. After competing through several challenging rounds, these students achieved top honors:
- 1st Place: Aubrie Volkman
- 2nd Place: Erik Stokes
- 3rd Place (Tie): Mia Sandborn, Benjamin Koetz, and Lincoln Zeches
The Spelling Bee was open to all 3rd-grade students at the beginning of the school year. Participants received a prep and welcome packet, and met with Librarian Missy Schneider and Fourth Grade Teacher Molly Leifeld once a month after school for additional practice from October through March.
"We were so proud of our third-grade students' progress with their spelling," said Schneider. Leifeld added, "I'm looking forward to teaching these students next year, knowing how ready they are for a challenge."
The competition highlighted the students' determination and enthusiasm for learning, with each participant demonstrating excellent spelling skills and sportsmanship.
Cotter Schools remains dedicated to fostering a love for learning, encouraging students to grow in confidence and academic excellence.
