“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our students,” said Andy Meurer, the band director at Cotter High School. “We are incredibly proud and excited to represent Minnesota on such a significant day for our nation. Our students have really pushed over the last few years to increase the level of excellence in our summer marching program. Those hours of rehearsal each summer out in the heat are paying off for them, and I couldn’t be more proud. We are excited to build a show this summer that will hopefully stand out not just in the state of MN, but at our nation’s capital!”
The National Independence Day Parade is a grand patriotic event that features bands, floats, military and specialty units, national dignitaries, and celebrity participants. It is a tradition that brings together people from all walks of life to celebrate the birth of the nation.
