Cotter Schools Announces Leadership Transition for Grades 7-12

Cotter Schools announces a leadership transition for its junior high and high school programs. Effective July 1, 2026, Evan Howard assumed the role of Principal for Grades 7–12.

At the conclusion of the 2025–26 school year, Cotter High School Principal Kate Moll shared that she would not be returning for the upcoming school year. A Cotter alumna, Moll brought a unique perspective and deep appreciation for the school community. Throughout her time at Cotter, she demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting students, faculty, staff, and families while advancing the mission of Cotter Schools.

Howard previously served in a variety of faculty and leadership roles at Cotter, most recently as Junior High Principal. Throughout his time at Cotter, he has demonstrated strong leadership, a deep commitment to student success, and a passion for building meaningful relationships with students, families, and colleagues. His experience, collaborative approach, and vision will help continue the positive momentum across the junior high and high school programs.

“Cotter has been my professional home since 2015, and I am truly grateful for the opportunity to continue leading and building upon the strong foundation of our junior high and high school programs,” said Howard. “Having served at Cotter as both a teacher and administrator, I have had the privilege of building relationships with the students, families, and colleagues who make this such a special place. I look forward to continuing the important work of supporting our educators and strengthening opportunities for our students and families in the years to come.”

As Principal of Grades 7-12, Howard will be supported by a strong team of student success coaches, academic advisors, the Director of Student Life, and other school leaders who work collaboratively to ensure every student receives the personalized support and attention they need. Mary Eileen Fitch, President of Cotter Schools, noted that this collaborative leadership model strengthens Cotter’s ability to serve students while maintaining the high standards and close-knit community that define the Cotter experience. “We are fortunate to have an experienced and capable administrator in Mr. Howard,” said Fitch. “He knows our community well, places a strong emphasis on building meaningful relationships, and is committed to continuing the tradition of excellence and outstanding programming for which Cotter is known.”
