Cotter Schools is thrilled to announce the official ribbon cutting and blessing of St. Nicholas Hall, a state-of-the-art facility designed to serve infants as young as 6 weeks old until they start kindergarten. The ceremony, held on August 6, 2024, was a joyous occasion attended by community members, benefactors, Winona Priests, Cotter Board of Directors, and school staff.
Father Russ Scepaniak officiated the blessing of the new building, invoking God's protection and ensuring that all who enter are kept safe in His loving arms. Mary Eileen Fitch, President of Cotter Schools, and Anna Koopman, Director of Operations, both delivered heartfelt speeches. They expressed their deep gratitude to the benefactors whose generosity made the construction of St. Nicholas Hall possible, the dedicated individuals involved in its planning and construction, and the compassionate teachers who will nurture and educate the children within its walls.
St. Nicholas Hall is open and welcomes infants and young children, providing them with the highest quality of early childhood education in a caring, faith-based environment. Cotter Schools is still enrolling students through Grade 12, with a new preschool Montessori classroom set to open during the 2024-2025 school year. This Montessori program will offer a unique, child-centered approach to education, fostering independence and a love of learning in our youngest students.
