Read-A-Thon Contest for Grades K-6

Our 12th annual read-a-thon fundraiser will kick off on Thursday, September 21 and finish on October 3. This fundraiser helps us raise money for important additional programming that makes our reading program stronger. We are asking each student to contribute $50. You can donate online or through a student in Grades K-6.

Reading Challenge:

  • K-1 will receive a Reading BINGO card
  • Grades 2-3 are challenged to read at least 200 minutes during the 13 days of the Read-a-Thon
  • Grades 4-6 are challenged to read at least 300 minutes during the 13 days of the Read-a-Thon
  • There are reading prizes for the Top 2 Readers from each grade level. 

My Favorite Book

  • All faculty at St. Luke Hall will display their Favorite Book throughout the Read-a-Thon

Stop Drop and Read!

  • Two times during our Read-a-Thon, students will drop whatever they are doing and READ!

Goals

  • $50 per student
  • 100% participation
  • $36,000 total

Prizes & Incentives

  • First 75 to $75 go into a drawing for: 
  • $5 Nate & Ally’s (20 total given away)
  • Pizza Party with the Principal (10 students)
  • When each grade level meets the financial goal TEACHERS will get SLIMED.
  • When the entire school meets the financial goal MR. BOWLIN will get SLIMED.
  • Top 4 classrooms receive a movie day
  • 1st Place Student $200/Scrip
  • 2nd Place Student $100/Scrip
  • 3rd Place Student $75/Scrip
