Engineering Team Earns Top Honors at Engineering Machine Design Challenge

The Cotter Schools Junior High Engineering Team recently achieved outstanding success at the Engineering Machine Design Challenge in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Competing against teams from across the tri-state area, Cotter’s team earned several prestigious awards, including Reserve Champion, Third Place in the Innovation Round, and Most Creative Use of Materials.

Team members Gavin Slavey, Ifraz Mohmed, Will Stier, Conner Waldera, Emmit Kappmeyer, and Brody Brown dedicated months to designing and constructing an intricate Rube Goldberg machine. Alongside presenting their machine, the students submitted a comprehensive engineering journal detailing their design process. Both the machine and journal were evaluated by a panel of industry and engineering experts.

This accomplishment reflects the team's exceptional creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration skills. Cotter Schools proudly celebrates the hard work and dedication of these talented students.
