Every October in 5th-grade religion class, Cotter students get ready to discover the incredible lives of saints. With so many saints to choose from, most students choose a saint that they or a family member shares a name with. Their saint research teaches them that the lives of these saints are unbelievable! The saints’ life stories are filled with pain and suffering, great faith, and amazing miracles. Next, the students read their saint reports to their classmates.
At the All Saints Day Mass the 5th graders dressed up as their saints and shared their saint stories. The message of the saints’ lives is timeless and important. Following in the footsteps of the saints shows that even ordinary people – like the saints and ourselves – can have a closer relationship with God.
